The spiral motif in the banner is Takarangi, the ancient double spiral from Te Ao Maori. It represents dynamically balanced outward/inward flows of mauri (energy) between Te Po (darkness/turmoil/chaos) and Te Ao (light/order/knowledge). This is one of the models of Te Ao Maori that informs my work with clients.
Modern neurobiology teaches us that we are ‘open systems’ hard wired for attachment. Our nervous system is wired for connection, it has an optimal state of arousal, here is a great illustration by Louise Marra. When we are overwhelmed the nervous system can become aroused into a sense of fight, flight or faun. Thankfully we can work with our nervous system to recognise when we are needing self-care and re-assurance to come back into an experience of safety.
Wellbeing can be developed through reconnecting mindfully to our ground of being, body, heart and this Sacred Earth. By bringing into awareness and identifying your resources you support your mental healthyness.
I support you to develop your connections to your sense of purpose, what has meaning and what you value. Encouraging you to come into right-relationship with the natural world (link here) including your own receptive and intuitive body.
Sessions are opportunities to step out of the everyday into a space that is set apart, where you can re-integrate your experience in a way that supports your sense of grounding and growth. I hold maps, models and practices to guide you into states of self-awareness, insight, self-care and celebration of life.
